Day 82 - Test Run

So, I'm going away this month, and in order to keep this ambition alive and a success, I must have some way of Barbequeing on the road. So a guy I know, Chris, offers me this BBQ in a Bucket nonsense. Sure, why not.

For starters, it's a charcoal BBQ. Something that I really should do at least a couple times before I end this malarky.

I have never used charcoal in my life. It's like trying to start a fire with wet newspaper. Fucking prick of a thing to get going I tell ya. I used about 7 firelighters over a 20 minute period (6 more than recommended).

I tried paper, more charcoal and turps. Whatever the case, blowing and fanning seemed to get it going the best. Still, 35 mins to get a BBQ crankin'? What the fuck?

Anyway, once going, it busted out quite a bit of constant heat. Nice.

Chris, thanks for the loan, but I think I might have to get a gas one. Fuck charcoal.
